Every man has experienced the "flames" of life - a disorienting diagnosis, an unexpected layoff, a marriage that's harder than what may appear in front of others. This fall, join the men of South Valley for "Refined," a retreat built around answering one important question: What is God actually doing in our suffering?

The Apostle Peter tells us that genuine faith is tested, like gold tested by fire. This "testing" is refinement. It's not punishment, it's purification. At the 2026 Men's Retreat, we are going to dig into what Scripture actually says about suffering. We'll talk about why God permits it, what it's meant to produce in us, how Christ himself modeled it, how we lead our families through it, and how to walk alongside other men who are experiencing it.
